POMONA - Twenty models wearing brightly colored tutus and elaborate
hair styles will be part of "Cirque de Savoie" a hair
show that starts at 8 tonight at The dA Center for the Arts, 252
S. Main St.
The show has a circus theme but it's inspired by the bright colors
found in the work of artist Andre Miripolsky, said Cherie Savoie,
organizer of the hair show and owner of Savoie Hair in Pomona's
Arts Colony.
Miripolsky, whose work will be at the dA this month as part of the
exhibit, "Miripolsky + Miripolsky," is known for his use
of bright colors in his artistic pieces.
Some of the models participating in the show will require four hours
of attention to get hair colors just right, Savoie said. Most models
require two hours to achieve the desired hair style.
The show offers visitors a chance to see hair as art, Savoie said.
Audiences can expect to see a mime, a clown, a bearded lady and
other classic circus characters' eye-catching costumes complementing
the hair designs.
