You’ve heard the expression, “Give ’til
it hurts,” and in the case of the second annual
“Tattoos For the Cure” event coming up at
Ink’d Chronicles in Pomona, the old adage is no
sheer metaphor. But fun wordplay aside, this benefit is
ultra serious about raiding money for the breast cancer
cause. Those who participate will really show they’re
down for the cause as artists will be on hand from noon
to midnight to tattoo pink breast cancer awareness ribbons
and other designs as well as piercings as part of this
fund-raiser. The event is the brainchild of Ink’d
Chronicles owner Terry Dipple, whose fiancé was
diagnosed with breast cancer last year. As a show of support,
Dipple received a ribbon tattoo as well as his daughter,
who is a piercer at Ink’d. Now you can do the same.
The minimum tax-deductible donation is $80, depending
on the size and detail of the tattoo, and piercings are
$35. All proceeds will go to the Breast Health Program
at the Robert and Beverly Lewis Family Cancer Care Center,
and Dipple’s aim is to surpass what they raised
last year, $4,000. The live music and art show from 7:30-11PM
is free and the good deeds being done here are priceless.
If every tattoo has a story, the ones here will be about
the lives touched by cancer—and those who survived
it.
